Hopefully concluding a rollercoaster few days where PlayStation owners were told to get a refund for Cyberpunk 2077 then asked not to, Sony has confirmed that not only will the company be issuing refunds, but the game itself is being pulled from the PlayStation Store.

A short statement posted on the PlayStation website reads:

SIE strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, therefore we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store. SIE will also be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice.

Once we have confirmed that you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store, we will begin processing your refund. Please note that completion of the refund may vary based on your payment method and financial institution.

Depending upon where you are in the world, you can access the special page Sony has set up for the refunds here.

From a lot of people’s presumptive game of the year to yanked off the PlayStation Store, all within a couple of weeks. Life sure comes at you fast sometimes.

Update 10:30pm: CD Projekt Red have issued a short statement, confirming that the decision to remove the game from Sony’s online store was made together with the platform holder, and adding that while the game has been pulled from the PlayStation Store, “Gamers can still buy physical versions of the game in retail and mail order stores. All copies, whether digital or physical, will continue to receive support and updates from the Company.”

Update 2, 3:14am, Dec 18: CD Projekt Red have shared this “important update”, saying that “anyone who is not willing to wait for updates” can submit their refund request here.
